Baraat (Indian Wedding) refers to the procession of the groom on horseback, accompanied by family members, relatives and friends. The groom sits on a decorated white horse (ghodi), resplendent in his wedding attire, and usually carries a sword. Alongside the groom there is his sarbala (best man), who is often a younger brother, cousin or nephew, acting as his caregiver. The baraat procession may consist of many people, both men and women.
